Vehicle Safety Recall Service (VSRS)
The SMMT Vehicle Safety Recall Service provides automated access to outstanding vehicle safety recall information, helping motorists, fleets, retailers and automotive businesses identify vehicles that require manufacturer recall work.
Overview
SMMT's Vehicle Safety Recall Service is run in partnership with vehicle manufacturers and provides a centralised way to identify vehicles with outstanding safety recalls.
The service helps address an important vehicle-safety problem: recall notices can be missed, particularly when vehicles change keeper. VSRS enables organisations responsible for individual vehicles or large vehicle populations to check recall status efficiently so that affected vehicles can be directed to an authorised repairer for the required corrective work.
The service covers approximately 98% of vehicles in use in the UK. Individual vehicle checks are available through the DVSA service, while SMMT's dedicated bulk service supports fleets, retailers and other automotive businesses that need to check large numbers of vehicles.
